Put-in-Bay hosts exciting Historical Weekend 9/9-9/11

The ever popular "Historical Weekend" will be held downtown Put-in-Bay, 9/9-9/11, with events taking place at the Perry Memorial.  This year's festivities include a Grand Parade (2:15 pm Saturday), with area and local dignitaries, several high school bands and island antique and classic cars.  A Memorial Service at Perry Monument visitor's center at 3:00 pm with U.S.S. Lake Erie sailors participating. 

Visit the Art in the Park display, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, DeRivera Park downtown Put-in-Bay, featuring area and regional artists, photographers, potters, painters, silversmiths, fabric artists, glass artists, and stained glass artists, where they will be displaying and selling their work.

The Toledo Symphony Orchestra Concert will take place at 6:30 pm at Perry's Memorial.  This free concert is part of the Historical Weekend's tradition of art, music, and history.  Bring a cushion or chair.

Also on Saturday, 9/10, The Ohio State University's Stone Lab holds its annual Open House on Gibraltar Island and at South Bass Island Lighthouse from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm.  Free boat ride to Gibraltar from Aquatic Resource Center dock.

On Sunday, 9/11, it is the Muffins vs. Mossbacks Historical Ball Game.  The annual match played at the ball field on Concord Avenue at 2:00 pm, will feature the Ohio Historical Society Muffins vs. the Put-in-Bay Mossbacks, using the original baseball rules.
